Get ready for the Sumner Hill Reality Fair!

Don't we all wish our kids could have a dose of "reality" every now and then?  Well that is just what will happen at the SHJHS Reality Fair scheduled Feb 9th - 10th from 8:30 - 3:45 each day.

The Reality Fair is a math-oriented program for all 9th grade students  where students are assigned an income bracket (based on their current grades).  They then take their monthly earnings and advance through a centers where they choose their housing, car, insurance, etc. Throughout this activity they will also be balancing a checkbook. The objective of this activity is to have them think about their future and how their choices now will directly affect the choices they get to make as adults.  At the end of the activity, if they have money left in their account...they receive a Payday Candy Bar.  But...if they have no money left...they will receive a Zero Candy Bar.

So, I know you are asking how can you help your teenager learn a lesson in reality?

Donate candy!!!!!!!!!
